Mysterious MARANATA David, commander-in-chief of the Mai-mai Corps of Christ group, was arrested in Butembo on 07 February 2017 by the Congolese government soldiers. The patron of the Mai-Mai Corps of Christ group was returning fresh from a great mission that had taken him to Nairobi, where he had to meet the famous White Eagle, Kakolele Bwambale, as part of the planning of support to bring to the program level of the M23 rebellion.
At the end of the mission, another meeting was scheduled to bring Kakolele and Maranata David together with a delegation of power in place that General Olenga had to send on instructions from President Joseph Kabila in North Kivu with a view to finalize the operational plan to be initiated by the M23. It was the prospect of a meeting that would bring together the M23 leaders and their collaborators, including Kakolele and Maranata of the Body of Christ, as well as those responsible for the Nyantura and other armed groups in favor of this malicious project.
It is easy to understand today why many people have been distrustful of the Mai-mai Corps of Christ from the beginning of their advent in Butembo more than three months ago. Moreover, one can still remember their reluctance to support the search that the young people of Beni organized to find the murderers in the forests where they hide.
Another pro-government militia « troubadour », Roger Berlin, has also been arrested for about two weeks in a prison in Beni. Berlin, is the main engine that Governor Julien Paluku has activated to accomplish the workshops of insecurity and destabilization of the great North Kivu to the detriment of the natives of this region. He is co-founder of the Mai-Mai Kyaghanda Yira group and continues to manipulate the Mai-Mai Mazembe who are made famous these days through detrimental actions that they have multiplied against the public order, against the security forces and against the civilian population.
A single reading emerges from the arrest of the two tenors of the currently active militias in the Beni-Lubero space: a large staged production so that Kabila presents to the opinions the proof of his thesis which stipulates that they are Nande sons who are the perpetrators of all the human and material damage suffered by the population of Beni-Lubero since the beginning of the massacres of civilians in the region of Beni in October 2014.
However, this game of arrest does not eliminate the continuation of the general destabilization plan of which Joseph Kabila has handed the prerogative to his devastating machine that is the M23. Indeed, the rebels of this movement, as soon as they returned to the terrain in Chanzu and Runyoni, were equipped with military uniforms and weapons, which continued to be strengthened every day, waiting for a generalized offensive to start simultaneously from Kivu to Ituri.
