To watch over one another is a moral quality encouraged by both civic and religious codes. Many Congolese are increasingly taking this virtue into account at a time when confusions deliberately maintained by bad faith political operators expose so many people (physical or moral) to contradict their deepest convictions. It is only in this context that Lucha wanted to help Mr Samy Badibanga to remember his previous commitments in the struggle for democracy and to recall once more his own words in this matter when he manifested a concern approved by all his compatriots, beyond his political affiliation (UDPS), as a sign of an ardent love for the Nation.
To Mr Badibanga Ntita Samy,
We have just heard about your presidential appointment as the new Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
We would have liked to congratulate you, and congratulate ourselves, especially since you have always denounced intentional maneuvers not to organize elections, attacks on public freedoms, mass crimes against the Congolese (Beni, Maluku, …), etc., at least publicly.
Unfortunately, as you yourself have said, the second and last term
Constitutional President of the Republic of which you hold the appointment ends December 19, 2016. It is in 32 days only! Even with all the skills and all the will of the world, you would barely have time to form a cabinet and develop a government program. As you well know, the alleged « political agreement » of 18 October 2016 has no supra-constitutional value to give you possibly more time.
If you still hold to the good of the DRC and the Congolese; If you still believe so strongly in the virtues of democracy and peaceful political alternation; If you have not mortgaged your dignity and honesty last night in the name of us as we do not know what bait; Then give up this appointment! Politely say to the President of the Republic: « Thank you for your confidence, but the thirty days that you remain in power is too insignificant to me to form a government and carry out any mission as Prime Minister! «
By this simple gesture, you will have done much for the DRC. Posterity – yours as well as that of the Congo in general – will remember your name as one of the political personalities who will have defended the republican values and will have ranked on the side of the people, including resisting the temptation of power and advantages That go with it!
The Lucha
« It is thus understood the grave danger of any extension to the power of Joseph Kabila. Congolese worthy of the name must reject any form of transition. Indeed, given what is happening in Kivu- Ituri, any transition beyond December 2016 would allow time and resources to the Congolese government which is, obviously, an accomplice of the Rwandan occupation of Kivu-Ituri in progress « (Father Vincent Machozi, March 19, 2016, speech that earned his murder the next day)
