On 20 March 2016, around 11 pm, the Congolese priest Reverend Father Vincent MACHOZI, aged 51, was extinguished under the wrath of the weapon of the executioners of his community whose struggle for liberation had become the most a high preoccupation of his life, and of which he wished to share, through solidarity and love, fate to the end.
His Nation (DR Congo), lying under the thick shadow emitted by the prosperity of a reign rooted in anti-values, is slow to recognize in the late president of the Yira-Nande community a « hero » worthy of » Praise and immortalization. That is why even the efforts to demand justice for him are systematically torpedoed by the leaders of his country.
However, the nobility of the struggle for justice and peace, which cost Father Vincent Machozi the price of the sacrifice of his own life, is exalted far beyond the frontiers of his native land. Thus, in order to conform to the usages of history, the University of Boston, which has palpated the depths of the hero’s inspirations, wished to remind all of the obligation to fulfill the duty of memory in regard to a personality exceptionally distinguished in dignity. Having known him as a student in his midst, Boston University has come to know Father Vincent more than his own Congolese family.
The praise of this illustrious deceased, as sung by his colleagues and supervisors at Boston University, is a universal invitation, but above all for the Congolese Nation, to pay tribute to courage and heroism Of the one who had to suspend all the dreams of personal well-being (his project of Doctorate and other personal projects) to return to sympathize with his brothers languishing under the yoke of violence and massacres, until pouring his blood for their liberation. Therefore, it considered him worthy to be immortalized by the establishment of a scholarship of this university which will bear his name. Yes, there will now be a scholarship « Vincent Machozi », whose major condition of accession will be to rank in the exploration of the domain this hero was so passionate about, namely « the construction of Justice and peace « .
What a motive to send endless thanks to the University of Boston!
